Tafadzwa Matika Africa 2023

Tafadzwa (Taf) Matika works as a Sr Program Officer at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, where he supports Ministries of Health to improve the use of data for decision-making in Neglected Tropical Disease programs and catalyze the digitization of public health campaigns. Prior to this role, Taf worked as an Oxford in Berlin Research Scholar and supported work in digital health.

He most recently graduated from the University of Oxford where he was an Oxford-Hoffmann Scholar. As a student, Taf helped to advise UK parliamentarians on how to translate a new World Health Organization global roadmap into UK domestic policy. His Master’s level thesis which
he conducted at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria involved qualitative research on how to strengthen global guidelines for HIV Key Population surveys.

Outside of public health work, Taf is a commercial farmer in Zimbabwe. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Anzisha Prize and the Board of Advisors for the African Leadership Agribusiness Network.
