Sinal Govender Africa 2024

Sinal Govender is on a quest to close the access to justice gap by working at the intersection of law, design, and technology. Growing frustrated by living life one billable hour to the next, she left her job as a Senior Associate at one of the world’s largest law firms to start her own legal consultancy in 2017, and co-found the legal tech platforms pop.law and life.file. Her ventures have been part of local and international accelerators and won multiple awards. For her work over the past few years, she has been recognised as one of the Mail & Guardian top 200 young South Africans, in the Justice and Law category. Outside of the law, Sinal is passionate and committed to sharing knowledge and skills and, in part, does this by acting as a business coach to emerging entrepreneurs through the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation. She graduated from Rhodes University with degrees in linguistics and law.
