Si Thu Wai is the Founder of TET Myanmar, a nonprofit that has trained thousands of teachers across Myanmar. With a background in Aerospace Engineering and currently pursuing a Master of Education at the University of Melbourne, he brings cross-disciplinary insights to education policy and digital transformation.
An alumnus of the YSEALI Academic Fellowship at the University of Connecticut, Si Thu has served as a Core Group Member and Facilitator at the SEAMEO INNOTECH Youth Summit on Transforming Education in Southeast Asia and as a former member of the YSEALI NEXT Executive Steering Committee. He has co-chaired the AI, Digital Learning, and Transformation thematic area of the UNESCO SDG4 Youth & Student Network, and leads EduSEA: Empowering Educators in Southeast Asia, a regional initiative strengthening teacher capacity and collaboration across ASEAN. He also served as a co-researcher for the ASEAN Cyber University Project, co-authoring articles on emerging trends in technology in education.
In 2025, he served as a Youth Ambassador at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference and a Navigator at the ASEF Youth Leadership Summit held alongside Osaka Expo 2025. He currently serves as an ASEAN Youth Fellow 2025, a program by the Singapore International Foundation and National Youth Council Singapore.
