Sam Davies is a high-achieving entrepreneur and business leader pioneering scalable solutions for permanent carbon removal in Africa. He currently serves as the CEO and Co-Founder of Flux, an innovative climate technology company based in Nairobi, Kenya.
At Flux, Sam is focused on scaling Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) across the continent to capture atmospheric CO2. This high-impact mission aims to capture one billion tonnes of CO2 by 2050. The process simultaneously improves soil health for millions of African farmers. His professional work is squarely aligned with global net-zero goals and the need for scalable, equitable Climate Solutions. His transition into the climate-tech sector was supported by his time as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Antler VC Accelerator in Nairobi.
Sam’s expertise in strategic operations and leadership was forged during his significant tenure as a Captain in the British Army. He completed training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, one of the world’s premier leadership institutions, before joining a reconnaissance regiment as Troop Commander.
During his service, he successfully led and coordinated the operational execution, training, and personnel management for a squadron of 140 soldiers. He was recognized with the Joint Force Commanders Commendation for his leadership during a NATO deployment in Poland.
Academically, Sam holds a BA in History from Oxford Brookes University and a PG Cert in Leadership and Conflict Studies from Cranfield University.
Beyond his professional life, Sam is a National Geographic award-winning photographer, and keen ultra-runner – excited by anything that helps challenge his comfort zone and perception of what is possible.
