Renee Smith is an Atlanta-based freedom fighter and Co-founder of Black Girls Do Politics, Inc and BGDP Leadership Development Academy, Inc, which are organizations founded to lift up the voices and increase the presence of black women in political spaces and aims to empower black women as future leaders to be at the forefront of change.
Renee Smith has an extensive legal background and worked as a trainee solicitor at one of UK’s top-ranking law firms. During her time in the UK, she performed pro-bono immigration services for refugees during the height of BREXIT before transitioning into politics and democracy upon her return to the United States in 2017.
Immediately thereafter, she joined the Stacey Abrams for Governor campaign in Georgia and then served as the Director of Finance and Operations for the Democratic Party of Georgia. She now works with Black Voters Matter Fund, where she serves as the Director of Operations. She is also the CEO of Hindsight Strategies, LLC, which is a consulting firm dedicated to working with non-profits that are dedicated to missions that are committed to pushing society forward and promoting change. As CEO, she assists these organizations in developing strategic business operations and human resources plans that will support its overall strategic goals.
Renee Smith holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Florida State University, a Masters degree in International Security from London Metropolitan University, a Law degree and Masters of Laws degree in Public International Law from the University of London.
