Ola Salem is the managing editor of New Lines Magazine, and a member of its launch team. Ola oversees the multi-award winning magazine’s branding and design, as well as the day-to-day work and publications of both online and print editions. In 2023, she helped move New Lines from an online-only magazine to a print magazine, overseeing all aspects of the operation, from printing to distribution, cover and page design, to commissioning and choosing the stories for each issue. A long-time journalist, Ola has written for Foreign Policy magazine, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Al Jazeera English, and The National. She is the author of a forthcoming book: “From Frankincense to Fragheads: The Lost History of Perfume” (Atria, 2027).
