Mariia Puchyna Europe 2023

Mariia Puchyna is a senior associate in the International Disputes Group in Paris, with experience in investment arbitration and international commercial arbitration and litigation (including related enforcement proceedings), as well as public international law. Her industry experience includes the oil and gas, mining, defence, finance and construction sectors, with particular expertise in cross-border and shareholder disputes.

Mariia obtained her first law degree from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Institute of International Relations (KIMO – University), and holds Magister Juris and Master of Philosophy in Law degrees from the University of Oxford, where she studied as a Weidenfeld Scholarship and Leadership Programme Scholar.

Prior to joining Freshfields, Mariia worked in an independent Ukrainian think-tank for legal initiatives and examination. Before joining Freshfields, Mariia worked in various law firms, including an international law firm in Kyiv.

Mariia speaks Ukrainian, Russian and English, and has a basic knowledge of German and French.
