Lenore Monterroza, Ph.D., is a cancer biologist and public health professional committed to advancing equitable, science- and technology-informed policies that strengthen global health security. Her interdisciplinary background spans oncology, immunotherapy, and translational medicine, with published research exploring how innovative, personalized cancer treatments can improve patient outcomes. A first-generation American raised on the U.S.–Mexico border, she is deeply committed to bridging science and society by ensuring research benefits underserved communities. Lenore has held roles across government, policy, advocacy, and academia, including at the National Institutes of Health and Georgia Watch, where she managed research portfolios, developed initiatives to expand healthcare access, and promoted evidence-based policy. Currently, as Program Manager at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, she leads efforts to integrate patient perspectives into clinical research and innovation.
