Joseph Dinkel serves as an active-duty Naval Special Warfare Officer. Dinkel’s overseas assignments include Iraq, South Korea, and other locations across the western Pacific. LT Dinkel served on SEAL Team FIVE as a squad commander before being asked to serve as the Operations Officer for the Naval Special Warfare Task Unit across the entire INDOPACOM theatre. Following his time overseas, LT Dinkel was selected to serve as the speechwriter for the 32nd Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Michael Gilday. Upon Admiral Gilday’s retirement, Dinkel reported to his alma mater, the United States Naval Academy, where he teaches English Literature as he awaits his next duty assignment in the SEAL Teams. Dinkel holds a B.S. in English with a minor in Chinese and a Master’s in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar.
