João holds a Masters in Public Administration and International Development (MPA/ID) at the Harvard Kennedy School. João worked at the PPP unit of São Paulo City Hall, where he participated in the design of several public-private partnerships, including the regulation of e-hailing apps like Uber in São Paulo. João is the co-founder and Executive Director of ImpulsoGov, Brazi’s first tech non-profit. This 60-people NGO that turns health data into healthcare to reduce preventable deaths in the developing world. It develops free digital products for local governments to reach out to the most vulnerable population in the country, improving physical and mental health indicators by making better use of data and technology. It directly supports over 170 Brazilian cities and there are 1000+ cities waitlisted.
