Jim Jimeno is a Vice Consul at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, where he oversees the Consulate’s economic, cultural, public diplomacy, community relations, administrative, and protocol sections. Prior to his current posting, he served as Acting Director at the Department of Foreign Affairs, supervising assistance-to-nationals operations across 30 Philippine embassies and consulates in the Asia-Pacific. In this capacity, he also chaired the Regulation, Information Management, and Monitoring Committee of the Philippine Migrant Health Network.
Before entering the diplomatic service, Mr. Jimeno was a research fellow at the Department of Health and a neuroscience nurse at St. Luke’s Medical Center–Global City. His writings have appeared in the Harvard Public Health Review, Routed Magazine, and the Annals of Behavioral Medicine, among others. He is a member of the IOM Migration Health and Development Research Initiative and has been recognized as a Pacific Forum Young Leader, World Economic Forum Global Shaper, YSEALI Academy Technology and Innovation Fellow, THINC Fellow, and Adenauer Young Leaders Program Fellow. He currently serves as Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the Young Initiative on Foreign Affairs and International Relations (IFAIR).
