Dylan is an Acting Director in the Department of Home Affairs, where he leads work on Australia’s response to the national security risks posed by Critical and Emerging Technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.

Dylan has an extensive background in national security, having worked in both policy and operational roles across state and federal governments. Dylan has also served as a member of the Australian Army and the Australian Federal Police. He believes in taking a wholistic approach towards security risk, with collaboration across government, industry and internationally essential for enabling agile and effective policy responses to emerging technology threats.
