Charles Mwanje Global 2026

Charles is a global health leader with over five years of experience advancing the intersection of health and technology. He has led digital health innovations across 22 low- and middle-income countries in Africa and Asia. Charles holds a Master of Public Health (Digital Health) from the University of Manchester and currently serves as Project Manager at the UK-based Commonwealth Pharmacists Association, where he leads the implementation of the Prescribing Companion-a mobile and web-based platform supporting antimicrobial stewardship and health systems strengthening, now used by over 85,000 health workers worldwide.
He previously worked with Jhpiego (an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University) and the Uganda Ministry of Health, contributing to national mental health and digital health initiatives. Charles is also the co-founder of Hope Springs Health Foundation, a Ugandan nonprofit leveraging technology to improve the health of youth and adolescents in marginalized communities.
He is passionate about leveraging emerging technology like AI to address complex global health challenges, in the areas of global health security and health systems strengthening.
