Atanas Pekanov is a macroeconomist at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) in Vienna and a lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Previously he served as Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria in the caretaker government between May and December 2021, was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard University, worked at the European Central Bank and studied in Vienna and London.
