Alan Y.C. Cheng Global 2026
Alan Y.C. Cheng is Venture Partner at Farron, Augustine & Alexander LLC, a Silicon Valley-based venture fund where he focuses on investments in early-stage technology companies. Alan is also serving in the United States Indo-Pacific Command as a reserve naval officer.
In his civilian career, before venture investing, Alan was Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at House Doctor, a telemedicine software company bringing medical doctors online for remote medical consultations over smartphone. Prior to technology entrepreneurship, he worked at Morgan Stanley in investment banking, where he provided primary markets equity capital raising advisory services to corporate clients, and at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he provided investment advisory services in secondary markets across equities, fixed income, currency and commodities, and alternative investments.
In his military career, Alan has served in the United States Navy Expeditionary Combat Command at Naval Construction Battalion Two-Two prior to receiving his commission.
Alan is affiliated with Atlantik-Brücke as a 2024 New Bridge Fellow, with Foreign Policy for America as a 2025 Foreign Policy Fellow, and with the Special Competitive Studies Project as a 2026 International Strategy Forum Fellow. Alan is also a 2026-2028 Scholar in the U.S.-Taiwan-European Next Generation Working Group of the University of California, Berkeley.
Alan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Alan has also completed the Maritime Headquarters Staff Course at the College of Maritime Operational Warfare of the United States Naval War College. Alan currently resides in San Francisco, California.
