Akshaya Trivedi works at the intersection of industrial policy, economics, and national security, with experience deploying both public and private capital into strategic sectors of the U.S. economy.
He currently serves as a Senior Advisor at the Office of Strategic Capital (OSC), a federal credit program within the U.S. Department of War that invests in critical minerals, batteries, microelectronics, advanced manufacturing, and other capabilities essential to U.S. technological competitiveness. In this capacity, he leads the development of OSC’s investment thesis and authored the office’s Fiscal Year 2025 Investment Strategy. He also helped guide OSC through the President’s Budget process, contributing to an expansion of the office’s loan authority from $1 billion to $205 billion during his tenure.
Prior to government service, Akshaya was an investor at Riverstone Holdings, an energy-focused private equity firm with more than $40 billion in capital under management. There, he supported a $10 billion portfolio of oil and gas, clean technology, and infrastructure companies and executed transactions across a range of structures, including growth equity, leveraged buyouts, SPACs, and continuation vehicles.
Akshaya began his career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, where he advised oil and gas, chemical, and utility clients and helped raise more than $20 billion in debt and equity capital.
A Wisconsin native, Akshaya earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Duke University, graduating with high distinction. He lives in Virginia with his partner, who is completing her OB-GYN residency at Inova Fairfax.
