Christopher Isaac North America 2023

Christopher Isaac is the Director of Responsibility at the International Genetically Engineered Machines Foundation (iGEM), where he leads efforts to promote ethical, safe, and secure practices in synthetic biology. With a background in Biology and Philosophy, and a Master’s in Bioinformatics, Chris brings a multidisciplinary approach to advancing responsible innovation.

He previously spent five years at the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), focusing on policy related to emerging technologies and biosecurity. A former Johns Hopkins Emerging Leader in Biosecurity Initiative (ELBI) Fellow (2018) and Schmidt Futures International Strategy Forum Fellow (2023), Chris has been recognized for his leadership in global biosecurity and strategy.
