The UNA-USA Fellowship Initiative was officially launched in January 2023 with support from the International Strategy Forum by Schmidt Futures. The initiative provides funding to improve access to UN career opportunities for those who are often underrepresented. Outreach has focused on historically Black colleges and universities, Hispanic serving institutions, tribal colleges, schools for the deaf and blind, community colleges, and other organizations serving young people that are traditionally underrepresented in international politics. UNA-USA has so far accepted ten outstanding young individuals as UNA-USA Fellows for 2023.
