Zeena Nisar is a Policy Analyst for the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology where she supports work specifically related to supply chain chokepoints, infrastructure, and tech-protect controls for the biotechnology industry. As a molecular biologist turn policy researcher, Zeena brings both technical and geopolitical expertise in her work at the intersection of national security and emerging biotechnology. Prior to her current position, Zeena was a Technology Policy Fellow with the US Foreign Affairs Committee where she supported international security efforts across the Department of Defense, the Department of State, and the Department of Commerce. Zeena obtained her bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado and her master’s degree in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University in Beijing.
