Youngeun Kim is currently an assistant professor at Seoul National University in the department of Materials Science and Engineering. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelors in Materials Science, Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering. She received her PhD at Northwestern University, under the supervision of Professor Chad A. Mirkin, in Materials Science and Engineering. She then worked as a postdoctoral scholar at Harvard University (Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering). Youngeun is interested in science and education, and has always been enthusiastic about mentoring younger students who study STEM. Outside of work, Youngeun enjoys cooking, hiking, and watching movies.
