Thane Campbell’s big idea is to develop systematic training for moonshot R&D. He is Founder and Dean of the College at Deep Science Ventures where interdisciplinary cohorts build science companies through an accredited PhD program — The Venture Science Doctorate (VSD). Today, VSD is the first national venture builder in the United Kingdom and the Caribbean. Thane has written about place-based innovation with the Federation of American Scientists and his work is recognized as best practice in workforce growth by The Government of Japan. His College plans to train 1,000 Venture Scientists per year, to advance global Climate and Health goals.
