Peter Machtiger is a lawyer focused on national security law and policy, particularly cybersecurity, risk management, and international law. Prior to law school, he served as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. He has written for Just Security, the NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, the Harvard National Security Journal, and the NYU Wagner Review.

Machtiger has a JD from NYU Law School, where he was a Student Scholar at the Reiss Center on Law & Security; a BA from Harvard University; and a CIPP/US certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
