Marwan Safar Jalani Middle East & North Africa 2024

Marwan Safar Jalani is the Global Crisis Analyst in the International Rescue Committee, leading research and analysis of thematic areas affecting global humanitarian crises. His work influences IRC’s strategic positions in those areas by informing the organization’s external policy and advocacy. Marwan has previously collaborated with the UN University Center for Policy Research, Human Rights Watch, and the Lowenstein Human Rights Clinic at the Yale Law School on a range of issues concerning human rights and humanitarianism. Marwan has a B.A. in Political Science and Human Rights from Yale University and an MPhil in Comparative Government from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar from Syria. He is also a graduate of the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) fellowship program at the Princeton School of Public and International affairs. His published work appears in the New York Times, the Atlantic Council, and the Oxford Middle East Review.
