Lauren Sukin The Americas 2024

Lauren Sukin is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is an Affiliate at LSE’s Phelan United States Centre and Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation. Lauren is also a Nonresident Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and an Editorial Fellow at the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. She earned a Ph.D. and M.A. from the Department of Political Science at Stanford University and A.B.s in Political Science and Literary Arts from Brown University. Lauren researches and writes about international security, with a focus on the politics of nuclear alliances. She is currently writing a book about extended nuclear deterrence. Her broader research agenda also explores topics such as crisis politics, cybersecurity, and security challenges in the Asia-Pacific region and for NATO.
