Katharina Wuropulos Europe 2024

Katharina Maria Wuropulos is a sociologist currently working on questions of democratic preparedness and public connection at the department of information science and media studies at the University of Bergen, Norway. Previously, she has been researching solidarity and security in Europe from a postcolonial perspective. This included ethnographic field work in Europe’s humanitarian borderlands. For her PhD, she researched everyday life with violence and discrimination in Sweden and its material-social solutionisms. For about ten years she has built global organisations and communities and won a variety of grants in the social innovation ecosystem. She supports building diverse societies which defend the democratic way of life.
