Stephanie Ifayemi is the Head of Digital Standards Policy in the UK’s Department for Digital, where she leads on the development of policy related to digital technical standards. In her role, she is responsible for a portfolio covering technologies such as AI and quantum.
As part of this work, Stephanie leads the delivery of technical standards objectives set out in the National AI Strategy. This includes the piloting of an AI standards Hub, alongside the Alan Turing Institute and representing the UK in international, multi-stakeholder fora, including in the OECD network of experts on AI. She is also the government lead in the UK’s new quantum standards panel, ICT/1/1/2 and within Standards Development Organisations such as IEEE SA. Prior to joining the Department, Stephanie worked for the German Foreign Office / Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford, where she was a Duke of Cambridge Scholar.
