Masumi Ito is an accomplished policy strategist and leader with extensive experience in government, focusing on science and technology, climate change initiatives, and innovation management. Currently serving as Deputy Director at Japan’s National Space Policy Secretariat, she is dedicated to supporting research and development and formulating advanced space technology strategies.

Masumi holds an M.S. in Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she focused on the reaerach about the creation of university spin-off startups in deep tech. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Tokyo.
